- ➤ A Carson City man, Da’Lecs Smith (25), is held without bail after being accused of open murder in an April 30 shooting near the Blue Bull bar, and his two-day preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Sept. 25 and 26 at Carson City Justice Court where he could face life in prison without parole if convicted. - ➤ Gov. Lombardo threatened to veto the education budget if charter school teacher pay raises are not included, as lawmakers dispute oversight in the final weeks of the session.
