🏘️ Community
Rotary Club members will learn how local and global foundation work have boosted community projects when Steve Lewis (a Global Fund Committee member) speaks at a luncheon meeting on Tuesday, Mar.
24 at noon at the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom, 449 West King Street. The public is invited to attend.
The Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City will host its annual Eggstravaganza on Apr.
4 and Apr. 5 at (2180 S. Carson St.) with historic train rides, live music, food vendors, and Easter egg hunts at 1 p.m. and 1:20 p.m.; a separate Bunny Express ride departs at 3:30 p.m.
Washoe Lake State Park in Carson City hosts family events this April.
It opens with an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, Apr. 4, a disc golf course on Saturday, Apr. 11, a sand dune hike on Sunday, Apr. 12, and a nature journaling event on Sunday, Apr. 19 (registration required).
🎓 Education
Carson High School named Brianna Rodriguez-Nunez this week’s Senior in the Spotlight for her strong achievements in academics, athletics, and community service.
The Rotary Club of Carson City (a local group) will feature her at their weekly meeting while she prepares to attend UNR this fall to study medicine.
Carson City School Board will review budget adjustments and potential staff cuts, including social workers, at a meeting on Tuesday, 6 p.m. at the Robert Crowell Board Room at the Community Center - trustees may also discuss transferring affected staff to fill open positions.
🏛️ Government
Carson City road work is scheduled for this week among multiple streets including Fifth, Seventh, Plaza and William, with closures and lane restrictions in place due to road and utility work.
Traffic will be impacted during early evenings and weekday hours through March 31 & drivers should plan alternative routes.
🏈 Sports
The Wolf Pack beat the Flames 73-63 at Lawlor Events Center Saturday with a 15-2 run in the final four minutes.
They will face the winner of Sunday's Seattle at Auburn game in the NIT quarterfinals.
