- ➤ Frey Ranch Distillery received 36 awards for its farm-to-glass whiskeys this year, including 'Most Awarded Distillery' at the ASCOT Awards. The distillery will expand its portfolio next year (with a third Harvester Series edition) and hosts Saturday tours from 12-4 p.m. The Nevada Appeal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Carson City students Fifi Maiello, Luna Arredondo-Rodriguez, Max Giurca and Nathaniel Gutierrez-Hernandez were awarded the 10th annual Rosemary Nebesky Memorial Scholarships at the Holiday Treat Concert Dec. 14. The awards, established by the Webleys in memory of Rosemary Nebesky, supported their music education and private lesson plans. The Nevada Appeal
- ➤ Today, Oasis Academy students brightened hallways with a Light Up the Room project as counselors guided them to create paper lights with kind words, and they learned money management in a budgeting simulation with Financial Horizons Credit Union. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ben Sullivan of the Nevada Soil Ecology Lab said that meadows help local ecosystems by storing carbon and filtering water (a natural method to fight climate issues). His research shows that restoring these areas can boost soil health. The Nevada Appeal
