The Carson City Sheriff's Office Volunteer Uniform Reserve Unit will offer Santa visits on Dec.

24 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the first 60 reserved homes—residents must call the Santa Hotline at 775-283-4728 to book a quick 10—15 minute visit.

Carson City's CPA Kelly Bullis explains that the IRS charges interest for not paying estimated taxes on time and guides taxpayers to avoid the penalty by using safe-harbor methods (90% of the current year's tax, 100% of last year's tax, or 90% of the current year's income).
