Tahoe Forest Products in Carson City said it is not bankrupt but is retooling its mill behind Topsy Lane on Washoe Tribal Land—its board of investors brings in new money as the firm works to fix noise and light issues raised by nearby residents.
The Nevada Day Gift Shop — known for supporting the Nevada Day Parade — will reopen on Small Business Saturday, November 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its new location, 508 N.
Curry Street, and will feature a refreshed layout, expanded Nevada-themed merchandise, and free photos with Santa for families. This event will help support the parade while inviting community members to shop local and celebrate the season.
Small Business Saturday returns to Carson City on November 29 with free coffee and a cookie served from 11 a.m. to noon at Laxalt Plaza—the first 100 shoppers will receive $10 in Downtown Dollars to spend at local shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

Carson City's Proscenium Players celebrated their 60th season by bringing back past favorite 'Arsenic and Old Lace,' which sold out most nights in October.
New president Warren Schader said the theater will add shows—Winter Gala on Dec. 5 and 6, The Cemetery Club in February, and Little Shop of Horrors in May—and welcomes community members to join as actors or crew.

The Western Nevada College Geology Club is hosting its annual Rock, Mineral and Fossil Sale on Dec.
5 at Room 322 of the Bristlecone Building on the Carson City campus to raise funds for a geosciences scholarship. The sale runs from (2 to 6 p.m.) and will offer over 1,000 rock, mineral, fossil, gem, and shell specimens seeking cozy homes for the holidays.
