- ➤ Nevada Day events will take place the first Saturday in November with a parade in Carson City and the Dia De Los Muertos Festival at Heritage Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Nevada Day as a three-day holiday — a change made in 2000 to celebrate Nevada’s birthday on Oct. 31. - ➤ The 2025 Nevada Day Parade will be held on November 1 in downtown Carson City and will feature legendary rodeo announcer Bob Tallman as Grand Marshal. The parade will start at 10 a.m. and include a mining contest, chili feed, beard contest and a special appearance by Silver Belle. News4

- ➤ The 53-foot U.S. Capitol Christmas tree Silver Belle was cut Friday near Mount Rose and loaded onto a flatbed truck with an 80-gallon hydration bladder to keep it green. It will debut Saturday at the Nevada Day Parade as it rolls through Carson City — then tours several communities before arriving at the Capitol for Christmas. The Record Courier
