Good morning, Carson City.

Carson City and Fallon will host a busy weekend of Halloween and Nevada Day events with family-friendly trick-or-treating, parades, and local activities scheduled from Friday through Sunday.

The events include free movie screenings, vendor displays, and festive competitions (many with live music) designed to engage the community.

Carson High School senior Maria Benshoof leads HOSA and serves as the NJROTC commanding officer, and she plans to study oncology in college—she earned a 4.9 GPA, ranks in the top five, and was honored at the Rotary Club Senior Spotlight.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office and Health and Human Services have issued safety tips for trick-or-treaters and Nevada Day parade goers as Halloween approaches.

The advice includes checking treats, staying in groups, using crosswalks and arriving early to secure safe spots—steps aimed at keeping families safe during the festivities.
