Joe Lombardo and First Lady Donna Lombardo will hand out candy to trick-or-treaters at the Governor’s Mansion on Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m.—the event will feature spooky decorations, actors, and a disc jockey to boost the festive mood. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Carson Valley Quilt Guild will show its quilts at the Copeland Gallery in Minden from Nov. 4 to Dec. 22. Visitors can view the work Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.—an artist’s reception is held on Nov. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. and pieces are available for purchase. The Record Courier

- ➤ Silver Belle, a 53-foot red fir harvested from the Carson Range, will debut at the Nevada Day Parade with a stop at Carson City Toyota from 1 to 3 p.m. on Nov. 1—officials said the tree will then begin a national tour with stops in Lovelock, Elko, Ely, Las Vegas, St. Louis, and Maryland.
