- ➤ Carson City officials announced planned road closures and lane restrictions on key streets from October 27 through November 2 for utility work and the Nevada Day Parade—one street closure will remain in effect until November 7. Residents should expect limited access at Mills Park, downtown intersections, and several streets with scheduled weekday and nightly closures. The Nevada Appeal
- ➤ U.S. Forest Service officials and a local sawyer plan to harvest Silver Belle, a 53-foot red fir from the Carson Range at 8,500 feet, to become the nation’s first Nevada Christmas tree. It will debut at the Nevada Day Parade in Carson City on Nov. 1 from 1 to 3 p.m.—beginning a tour with stops in Lovelock, Elko, Ely, Las Vegas, St. Louis and Maryland. The Nevada Appeal
