In August, Carson Follies raised $10,000 for Meals on Wheels by gathering monetary donations, raffle prizes, in-kind items, and local business support—an effort that boosts vital services for seniors facing rising costs and a growing waitlist.
Meals on Wheels continues to deliver meals and friendly visits to Carson City seniors to help them stay healthy and independent.
Carson City will hold its annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Mills Park where the 9/11 Memorial Site displays a beam from the World Trade Center towers.
Food provided by The Bus Boy is offered at 5 p.m.—local officials including Mayor Bagwell, Sheriff Furlong, and Fire Chief Nyberg will speak as residents honor first responders and victims.
🎓 Education
TMFR firefighters visited the Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology on Monday morning and burned down a doll house in a live fire safety demonstration for students.
Sophomore Jaxson Grenert said he wants to be a firefighter—teacher Doug Donovan, a retired Henderson Fire Department member, led the hands-on event.
