EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At its Aug. 21 meeting, the school board voted 7-0 to acknowledge an Open Meeting Law violation, with trustees Burns, Jansen, and Dickerson saying they did not agree with the findings—alleging the violation arose from a secret meeting before the board officers were chosen. The Record Courier
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Workers will close Toler Lane for two weeks starting Sept. 8 to install the second roundabout on Muller Lane Parkway. Traffic from East Valley will detour via East Valley Road—Buckeye Road and Orchard Road until the lane reopens on Sept. 22. The Record Courier
- ➤ Carson City will see multiple road closures and lane restrictions from Sept. 1-7 due to road and utility work—closures include Mills Park access, Baker Drive, and Commerce Way during Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Motorists should plan alternative routes as the work may slow travel across the affected areas.
