- ➤ The Carson City Sheriff’s Office asked for help to locate missing 15-year-old Gladys Mejia Cervantes who ran away from her home on Aug. 27 wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and glasses + she is described as Hispanic, 5-foot 6 tall and weighing 180 pounds. The Nevada Appeal

- ➤ State officials said they discovered a cyberattack on Saturday that led to data theft and caused delays in state services as systems were taken offline to protect information. Tim Galluzi said his team is working with state and federal partners to restore services—specialists are examining the stolen data to decide next steps. The Nevada Appeal
- ➤ Carson City planning commissioners approved a special use permit for 92 attached townhomes at the southeast corner of Silver Oak Drive—GS Richards Boulevard in the Silver Oak Planned Unit Development, noting the project will bring fewer traffic trips than a previous apartment plan while requiring parking and intersection improvements. Commissioners also recommended abandoning a public access easement east of Interstate 580 and continued a special use permit hearing for a new fence on Baker Drive while discussing planning issues with new city manager Glen Martel. Lombardo held a press conference on Thursday about a cyber attack that took state government sites offline since Sunday night—he said he missed Wednesday’s event due to preplanned rural duties and noted that state agencies are working with the Governor's Technology Office to restore operations.
