  • Carson City deputies arrested multiple individuals early Monday, including 37-year-old Brenden Loren Sisson for alleged felony domestic battery by strangulation and DUI after a report from the 700 block of Hot Springs Road—arrests also include 44-year-old Kelly Stults for assault with a deadly weapon from a Fairview Drive incident, a 38-year-old Carson City woman for drug violations, a 37-year-old woman for misdemeanor domestic battery after a domestic dispute, and a 54-year-old man for a second domestic battery offense on North Carson Street.  CarsonNow

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Sierra Murphy, a single mother of three, joined Western Nevada College’s CDL program last November and had trouble passing her permit exam until help from EmployNV and WNC’s ROADS program let her succeed—she has now secured a job with the Washoe County School District.  CarsonNow

  • On Monday, Nevada state offices paused in-person services after a network security incident disrupted operations.   • Carson City sellers must fill out a detailed Real Property Disclosure form when selling their homes to share any known defects - the form warns that not telling about problems or new defects could lead to triple damages if a buyer rescinds the agreement.   • Carson High grad Terek Been—a Nevada native and member of the Canadian National Rowing Team—set a new Canadian men's 2000m erg record and earned podium finishes at Henley events.   • The Nevada Wolf Pack under coach Jeff Choate will play its season opener at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Beaver Stadium — where a $1.45 million payout awaits them — as they face No. 2 Penn State favored by 44 points.
