Transportation staff and specialty positions at Carson High have been filled—saving costs—and the district is reviewing a stop-arm camera pilot program that will not be ready by school start Monday. - ➤ Carson High School’s Blue Thunder marching band will perform a custom show called Dark Side of the Moon—an adventure in space that tells a story of overcoming challenges and safely returning. - ➤ The second annual Sierra Nevada Drive for Parkinson’s Rally will start at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 6 in Genoa as drivers travel a route that passes through historic Gold Rush towns. After the drive, a buffet dinner will be held at Carson Valley Inn where retired race car driver Davy Jones—who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1996—will speak to help raise funds for the Parkinson’s Support Group.
