- ➤ The Nevada Artists Association released the winners of its summer show featuring 121 submissions from 50 local and regional artists and running through Sept. 12 at the Brewery Arts Center. - ➤ The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported that the state's unemployment rate held at 5.4 percent in July as 1,100 nonfarm jobs were added. In Carson City, employment dropped by 200 jobs from June. FOX Reno

- ➤ Western Nevada College will set up a workforce training hub at its Fernley campus using a $600k award from the Governor's Office of Economic Development — the hub will train workers for the growing lithium battery recycling industry. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ CAMPO approved an agreement with NDOT to spend about $1.25 million from federal funds on a feasibility study for an East Dayton Bridge that may begin later this year and take over a year to complete—Lyon County provided $66,000 as a local match. The Carson City Regional Transportation Commission also approved contracts for traffic signal improvements at the Appion Way Intersection and pavement striping for city roads, with work at the intersection expected to start next spring.
