- ➤ A lake water quality precaution is in effect near Camp Richardson after samples from Lake Tahoe’s South Shore showed elevated E. coli levels, and the resort began repairs on a leaking sewer line using immediate measures + officials are working with partner agencies to monitor safety while advising the public to avoid swimming between Jameson Beach and the Valhalla Boathouse. They will also examine proposals for a Community Center roof replacement funded by a CDBG grant, a 50-year lease at Eagle Valley Airport, and a water and sewer replacement project to improve local infrastructure. - ➤ Director George Togliatti of the Nevada Department of Public Safety announced Joseph Rodriguez will be the new State Fire Marshal starting Sept. 13—succeeding Mike Dzyak who will retire on Sept. 12 after a 25-year career.
