Carson City Park Rangers will host two free programs at Silver Saddle Ranch this August — a Jr Ranger Day event on August 23 with guided hikes and an opportunity for kids to earn an official patch, and a historical tour on August 30 that explores local mining, ranching, and Carson River history. Registration is required for both events and minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Scott Grange, a Carson High School graduate, published his novel 'Flying Lessons' in April, blending a modern thriller with flashbacks to 1944 to honor his World War II pilot grandfather — a copy is available at the Carson High library.
