- ➤ The fourth annual National Night Out will take place on Aug. 8 at the Ironwood Shopping Center from 4-8 p.m. and will feature a live band, food trucks, vendors, bounce houses, a free movie at 7:30 p.m. and a raffle that benefits the Douglas County Sheriff's Advisory Council as the Sheriff's Office showcases Search and Rescue, Mounted Patrol and K9 demos. - ➤ Dangberg Historic Park will host a Pony Express history event Tuesday at 10 a.m. in partnership with the Nevada Division of the nonprofit National Pony Express Association, where youth and families can watch horseback mail exchanges, listen to a presentation by rider Warren Upson, and take part in ham radio demonstrations, a photo booth, a scavenger hunt, and craft activities (all youth must be accompanied by an adult).
