- ➤ The Carson City Board of Supervisors approved a $22.5 million contract with Granite Construction for the East William Street Complete Streets Project on the section between Carson and Roop streets in May & detours are in place as construction will proceed in three parts through mid-summer 2026. - ➤ On July 17, Nevada Treasurer Zach Conine awarded six Carson Tahoe Health employees as part of the Nevada Health Equity and Loan Assistance program, which gives health care providers between $15,000 and $120,000 for serving underserved communities. The program pays awards in installments after a year of service — helping workers like charge nurse Jessica Young focus on patient care — and is expected to expand as hospitals add more education spots. - ➤ Carson High graduate Dominic Porter won the gold medal in Lima, Peru earlier this month at the U20 Pan American Championships in beach wrestling in the over 90 kilogram weight class – he recorded a 3-1 record with two pins and plans to wrestle at Mercyhurst University. The Nevada Appeal
- ➤ On July 19, the Carson Valley Swim team won the 12-mile Trans Tahoe race with four local swimmers and two national-caliber teammates completing the course in 4 hours and 43 minutes — a time slightly faster than last year.
