  • On July 22, the Carson City School Board held a first reading of updated Policy 539 that could exempt students from the PE requirement if they complete 120 or 240 hours of alternative activities—such as military science, marching band, athletics or competitive club activities—and earn graduation credits while still allowing enrollment in PE courses. The update reflects changes to NAC 389.488 and will be reviewed for board approval in the future.  The Nevada Appeal
