- ➤ At 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dangberg Historic Park will host the family event Dare To Be A Cowboy in partnership with the nonprofit and The Will James Society, offering hands-on activities for kids 3–15. Additional free events include a Chautauqua honoring founder Abe Curry at 10 a.m. Aug. 1 and a talk on historic prison executions with Glen Whorton at 10 a.m. Aug. 2 — providing locals with a chance to learn about Carson City history. - ➤ Carson City Community Development Director Hope Sullivan and the Planning Commission will lead listening sessions in August at the city library (900 N. Roop St) to let residents share concerns about the new Master Plan land use map, and the input will be reviewed at the Sept. 24 meeting. The Nevada Appeal
- ➤ Attorney General Aaron D. Ford joined a bipartisan group asking Congress to pass the SAFER Banking Act—this law would allow banks to serve state-regulated cannabis businesses legally. The bill is meant to reduce safety risks from cash-only operations and support economic growth. News4
- ➤ Carson City will have road closures and lane restrictions from July 28 to Aug. 3 due to road and utility work; 2nd and Minnesota Streets will close for the Levitt Amp Summer Concert series while Lompa Lane, Menlo Drive, and Thompson Street will restrict traffic — cyclists will use detour routes along Ash Canyon and Saliman Roads.
