- ➤ Crews cleared a sand spill on westbound US-50 in Glenbrook after a semi-truck carrying sand flipped on July 9 — the blockage caused significant driver delays as reported by the Nevada Highway Patrol. FOX Reno

- ➤ Greg Gilmore — leading his band that spent 10 years as Silver before rebranding — will headline at the Levitt AMP Concert series Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center, where they will perform a mix of classic songs and their new introspective rock sound. The Nevada Appeal
- ➤ The Carson City Symphony Association’s free 'Strings in the Summer' program begins today at the Carson City Senior Center with sessions on July 10, 17, 24 and 31; registration is free and donations are welcome. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Nevada Controller Andy Matthews announced he will run for re-election in 2026—he was elected in 2022 with record support—and he launched an online checkbook that gives residents detailed, real-time data on state spending. - ➤ Construction on Muller Lane Parkway will close Buckeye Road between Sanford and Bently Parkway for nine days starting Monday morning, and the work will build one of five roundabouts along the route + work on the south segment has been underway for three months. The Record Courier
- ➤ Carson City supervisors approved a resolution on July 3 to cap new home permits at 3% growth for the coming years following the Growth Management Commission’s recommendation that set 774 permits for 2026, 802 for 2027, and rising numbers for later years— they also set a 10,000 gallon daily water use threshold for commercial projects, approved a zoning change for 384 new apartments, allocated funds for audits and art projects, and appointed a new member to Visit Carson City while warning residents of a permit scam.
