- ➤ Local experts reported that Lahontan Reservoir in Silver Springs is under a harmful algae bloom advisory after a thick green build-up was seen at the boat ramp. Environmental scientist Weston Fettgather and state veterinarian Dr. Peter Rolfe warned that exposure to the toxins could cause skin, respiratory, or stomach problems and urged residents to avoid the water (an informational session was held Monday and a HAB reporting tool was launched).
