ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Visit Carson Valley was awarded a $77,023 rural marketing grant from Travel Nevada to support key tourism initiatives during the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The funds will cover digital advertising and a rebrand of the Mobile Visitor Center—helping local businesses and boosting regional tourism while the group meets its 50 percent local match requirement. - ➤ Nevada State Police Director George Togliatti appointed Michael Edgell as colonel of the Nevada Highway Patrol Division, and Edgell — with over 25 years of law enforcement experience from his start as a trooper to roles as deputy chief and captain — will soon lead the division’s three regions. - ➤ On June 12, state crews began work on reconstructing the Marlette Lake Dam as part of a project costing over $23 million with federal and state funds to secure Carson City’s water supply.
