  • After a fast-moving storm capsized a 27 foot Chris-Craft on Lake Tahoe Saturday, officials recovered a boater's body on Sunday and concluded Monday's dive search with two survivors, seven deceased — one person still missing.  CarsonNow

  • Planet Fitness will open its new gym on Wednesday, June 25 in a shopping center between Walmart and Home Depot in north Carson City + the gym is hiring and had finishing touches put in over the weekend. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Firefighters have made significant progress on the Conner Fire — now 28% contained across 17,714 acres — after the blaze started on June 20 off Conner Way in Pineview Estates. An infrared-equipped aircraft flew today to help crews cool hotspots and strengthen containment lines.  News4

  • CPA Kelly Bullis from Carson City said many taxpayers lose tax savings when they invest in foreign dividend-paying stocks—he advised asking brokers for funds that invest only in U.S. companies to help keep nearly $1,000 in potential savings.  The Nevada Appeal

  • Sierra Nevada Realtors reported Carson City had 44 sales of existing single-family homes in May, and the median price reached $585,000 — a 12.9% rise from April despite sales dropping 10.2% from the previous month and last year. Active inventory hit 98 homes, marking a 42% increase from April.  The Nevada Appeal
