- ➤ The Carson City Parks Foundation will host an open house at the historic Wungnema House in Mills Park across from the high school this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.—admission is free and the event honors the Hopi stonemasons who built the structure and helped restore it for community use. - ➤ Carson City Sheriff’s Office seeks help to identify a suspect who stole merchandise from Walmart on May 8th; the suspect was seen wearing a grey t-shirt, blue jeans and grey tennis shoes (linked to a grey sedan, likely an early 2000s Hyundai Elantra) and anyone with information is urged to call the department. - ➤ Carson City deputies arrested a 28-year-old man on Wednesday night for accidentally discharging a firearm that sent a bullet through a neighbor's apartment wall on College Parkway, a man early Thursday for lying in the roadway near E. Nye Lane and Airport, and a 27-year-old woman on Wednesday for DUI drugs and related driving offenses on Highway 50 E (warrants were also issued for three other individuals). CarsonNow

- ➤ Local cyclist and Sierra Lutheran class of 2025 graduate Joshua Fox finished the Everest Challenge on June 7th by riding 52 laps (Kings Canyon Road) to climb over 29,800 feet and cover more than 153 miles in one day, ending his ride at 9:30 p.m. He received cheers from coaches and student riders and will join Fort Lewis College’s Division 1 cycling team this autumn under KCYC (Kit Carson Youth Cycling). - ➤ After Gov. Joe Lombardo vetoed a bill to sanction high school lacrosse, the NIAA announced it will sanction boys and girls lacrosse as varsity sports in the 2026-27 academic year (an August board meeting will review the proposal). News4
