- ➤ On Wednesday, the Public Utilities Commission heard NV Energy’s proposal for a wildfire self-insurance policy that would add less than one cent per kilowatt-hour, roughly increasing residential bills by $2.40, to cover wildfire risks caused or worsened by utility equipment. Some customers and environmental groups opposed the plan—arguing NV Energy should fund it—and the commission will decide on the proposal soon. News4
