Carson City School District warned students and parents about a scam called “NIL Club” that sends texts and uses an app to lure high school athletes with false promises of payment—experts remind that school athletes cannot legally earn money from athletics per NIAA and NFHS rules.

On June 10 at 10 a.m., the Northern Nevada Correctional Center hosted a graduation ceremony for incarcerated students who completed Western Nevada College’s Higher Education in Prison program—marking the first time the college used federal approval to offer Pell Grants to eligible students.
