- ➤ At 4 p.m. Thursday, about 30 youths fought at Zephyr Cove Beach when a Carson City juvenile pulled a knife at a security officer and another hurled beer cans, leading to both being arrested and charged—one with assault with a deadly weapon and minor consuming and the other with battery and minor consuming. - ➤ The Carson City Planning Commission will hold public hearings on June 25 at 5:00 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center to review planning proposals including Glenn A Hooten’s permit for a residential unit and metal containers, CCNevada, LLC – Glen Powles’ easement abandonment proposals, Bob Fredlund’s accessory dwelling unit permit request and a review of an expanded Cinderlite extraction permit — matters that will affect local development decisions. - ➤ CAMPO opened its public comment period on the DBE Goal Setting Method for fiscal years 2026 to 2028 from June 4 to July 4 so locals can review hard copies at the JAC Transit office or ask questions. - ➤ Carson Area MPO opened a 30-day public comment period on its update to the Fiscal Year 2025 and Fiscal Year 2026 Unified Planning Work Program on June 5, which will close on July 5. - ➤ Carson City’s summer watering restrictions run from June 1 through Sept. 30 and allow residents and businesses to water lawns three days a week. Odd-numbered addresses water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays while even-numbered addresses water on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—no watering is allowed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or on Mondays.
