- ➤ Western Nevada College awarded emeritus status to six long-serving faculty members (with service ranging from 13 to 36 years) to honor their contributions in subjects like nursing, science, language and math. - ➤ Brandon Bringhurst will join the Carson City School District as chief academic officer July 1, replacing Tasha Fuson who will retire at the end of June. He will lead efforts to oversee curriculum, instruction and assessment while supporting school leaders (he is currently the principal at Marce Herz Middle School until the end of the school year).
