The school will merge with Carson High to become Carson Silver next year—Mallorie Sheley-Brendel plans to attend the University of Nevada, Reno while Kylee Krause-Mays will study psychology at Western Nevada College. - ➤ Carson City Culture and Tourism Authority will hold a meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9 at the Carson City Community Center in the Robert Bob Crowell Board Room to act on a resolution that adds $729,756 to the fiscal year 2024 to 2025 general fund budget so that unbudgeted resources may be appropriated—persons may attend and file written comments before the meeting. - ➤ The Nevada National Guard will host its Flag Day observance and Army 250th birthday celebration on June 14 at the Veterans Memorial behind the state capitol — featuring an Army helicopter flyover, historical flag presentation and remarks by Brig. - ➤ Governor Joe Lombardo's housing bill was approved by lawmakers on Monday with a 15-6 Senate vote, directing $133 million to affordable housing and expanding its definition.
