Good morning, Carson City.

Troy Wayne McComak, 40, who was wanted for attempted murder after a May 28 domestic incident in Hughson, Calif., was arrested Friday evening in Carson City after fleeing in a 2009 Saturn sedan — officers reported he had threatened to fight law enforcement.

Carson City Schools announced that associate superintendent Tasha Fuson will retire at the end of June after a long career as a special education teacher, principal, and leader at Carson High—where she helped raise graduation rates and start programs like Jump Start that let 24 students earn an associate’s degree. She said teachers work best when given strong support and credited the local community for backing these school efforts.

Carson City local David Theiss, owner of Butler Gourmet Meats which has served the community for over 50 years, will honor Father’s Day by passing down his cherished barbecue tongs along with a bone-in ribeye steak recipe.

The story explains how a humble backyard grill set the stage for a legacy of family traditions (from father to son) that continues today.
