- ➤ The Highway 50 Association will run its 76th Wagon Train from Lake Tahoe to Placerville from May 31 to June 7 — riders will travel in period dress, camp, and cook to recreate 19th century travel. The Pony Express Re-Ride, led by the Nevada Division of the Pony Express Association, will start at Woodfords Station at 1 p.m. on June 12 and reach Genoa at 3:30 p.m. — following a historic route. - ➤ Speaker Steve Yeager said lawmakers may call a special session in September or October to address federal spending cuts that risk reducing funds for Medicaid, highways and education.
