Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 18th of May.
Good morning, Carson City.
On May 14, CAMPO approved an interlocal agreement with Lyon County to manage $1.25 million in STBG funding and a $66,000 local match for a feasibility study that will identify a future bridge location across the Carson River in Dayton Valley — the study will collect data, analyze environmental impacts, and evaluate roadway options. Meanwhile, the Transportation Commission approved projects to improve stormwater drainage and street conditions on Carmine Street, Curry Street and Little Lane using STBG funds and local contributions — these improvements aim to ease flooding and prepare for future upgrades.
Carson City officials have scheduled road and lane closures from May 19 to May 25 for utility and construction work — several streets will be fully closed or have restrictions during peak hours with detours provided for multi-use paths.
