- ➤ Attorney General Aaron Ford held a press conference Friday at the Office of the Attorney General in Carson City from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to address allegations of misappropriated funds in the failing Lovelock fiber optic project—funds that were meant to help bring high-speed internet but went missing amid financial discrepancies. - ➤ The Carson City Board of Supervisors will hold a public meeting on Thursday, June 5 at 8:30 a.m. at the Community Center's Robert Bob Crowell Board Room to discuss a non-renewal notice from the current Downtown Neighborhood Improvement District administrator and to receive written or verbal objections regarding the proposed changes. - ➤ Secretary Scott Turner announced today that the Washoe Tribe is up for $2,685,894 in HUD funding to support affordable housing projects in tribal communities. The money is part of $342 million in Indian Housing Block Grants aimed at helping Native American tribes in Arizona + Nevada expand housing options. The Record Courier
- ➤ The Carson City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on May 28 at 4:00 p.m. at the Community Center Board Room (851 East William Street) to review proposals including a request for a special use permit for a 500 square foot attached accessory dwelling unit at 2530 Sycamore Glen Drive, a zoning change for Lompa Ranch North (699 North Lompa Lane), a wireless tower replacement at 1281 North Roop Street, and a storage facility at Eagle Station Lane.
