- ➤ Carson Valley Arts Council is presenting an art exhibit by local artists Kristy Dial and Tina Forkner at the Copeland Gallery in Minden from Monday through June 27 with viewing hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work from both artists is available for purchase—an artist reception is scheduled for May 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. The Record Courier

- ➤ At a Thursday Economic Forum meeting in Carson City, state officials reported that Nevada faced an almost $191 million gap in its biennial budget with rising unemployment, slight inflation and declining tourism as key factors. Lawmakers may hold a special session later this summer if they cannot fill the gap. News4

- ➤ Minden native Sullivan Cauley returned to MMA on Thursday in Orlando with a first-round TKO win that improved his record to 7-1.
