- ➤ A man died from a gunshot on Wednesday night at about 9:45 p.m. outside the Blue Bull bar on Telegraph Street in Carson City when an altercation set off several 911 calls and a suspect (whose name was not released) turned himself in (he is an adult male) at the sheriff’s office. CarsonNow

- ➤ Carson High School announced Wednesday that Taylor Macedo will be the new head varsity cheer coach and English teacher, replacing Mikayla Nelms when she joins the Senators in August—she brings six years of competitive cheerleading experience. The Nevada Appeal
- ➤ Carson City EAA Chapter 403 will host a free Young Eagles youth flight event at Carson City Airport on May 10 for kids ages 8-17 where they will receive a pre-flight safety briefing, fly in private aircraft, and earn a logbook, membership, and online Ground School access—registration starts Saturday, May 3 at 8 a.m. A pancake breakfast will also be available at the Chapter House from 8 to 10 a.m. for $10 for adults and $8 for children.
