- ➤ Minden Fortnightly donated $29,400 on April 15 to support 34 local programs at CVIC Hall, including scholarships and hall renovations that benefit the Carson Valley community. The Record Courier

- ➤ Suicide Prevention Network and Mental Health America will plant a pinwheel at the Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center on May 4 from 4:30 — 6 p.m. to mark Mental Health Awareness Month and offer symbols of hope and support. The Record Courier
- ➤ Two Gypsy Vanner draft horses visited the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home on Friday, bringing comfort and connection as residents in wheelchairs enjoyed petting the animals — a program by the Nevada Department of Veterans Services that helps ease stress, anxiety, and depression. FOX Reno
