  • The Greenhouse Project will host its annual Mother's Day plant sale at Green Central on Carson High campus on May 10 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., where TGP staff, AmeriCorps, and Carson High students will sell organic annuals, perennials, vegetables, and native plants grown using focused soil health practices; vendors will offer gift items and fun activities while all proceeds support student education and food programs.  The Nevada Appeal

CULTURE NEWS

  • Keaton Simmons and Tony Lucca, touring with Brett Young, will headline a free concert in support of The Cultural Arts Foundation on May 4 at Sunridge Golf and Recreation in Gardnerville. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Carson City Supervisors will review the FY2026 tentative budget on May 1st at 8:30 a.m. in the community center board room at 851 E. William St.—the budget includes 24 governmental funds with about $164 million in expenditures and 10 proprietary funds with around $61 million in expenses—and will later consider the final master plan update at 5:30 p.m. as part of the meeting's comprehensive review of city projects and financial strategies.  The Nevada Appeal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Gerber’s recalled Soothe N Chew Teething Sticks still appear on Nevada shelves despite a nationwide recall issued on January 31 due to choking incidents. State and local inspectors began checking over 90 stores on Friday — removing unsold items — while consumers are advised to return any purchases for a full refund.  News4

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Two western Carson Valley golf courses on 565 acres with amenities were sold for $6M to SAC 2 LLC from Fremont, Calif — a California company incorporated in Wyoming last November. The sale, completed after a decade of ownership by Genoa Golf Group IV who bought the courses for $3.25M, does not include the surrounding home developments.  The Record Courier
