Nevada Humane Society in Carson City is asking for foster families as kitten season brings many fragile kittens that need bottle feeding every 3 to 3.5 hours and a warm, quiet space.

The society will host a foster orientation on Saturday, April 26—offering supplies and guidance to help these kittens grow healthy until adoption.

Carson High senior Maximillian Alexander Bushey was named this week’s Rotary Senior Spotlight for his leadership in the classroom, choir and FFA—he serves as choir stage manager and Capitol FFA Chapter President and is set to lead as Nevada FFA State President for 2025-2026.

At the Carson City School District’s Annual Employee of the Year Recognition event on Tuesday, April 22, Mr. Matt Morgan was honored as Educator of the Year, Ms. Jessica Greener was named Employee of the Year for Education Support Professionals, and Dr. Jen Ward was recognized as Administrator of the Year—each recipient received a $200 gift card from Greater Nevada Credit Union.

A helicopter was seen flying over Carson City Wednesday morning doing an aerial survey for gas leaks, according to Airport Manager Corey Jenkins (the charter flight was routine and posed no risk to the public).
