- ➤ Douglas County authorities arrested four suspects linked to a retail theft ring after stopping a vehicle near Carson Valley Plaza on Monday around 4:10 p.m.—one person remains at large and will face charges in East Fork Justice Court this morning. The Record Courier

- ➤ Water flows through the V-line canal show that the Carson River watershed is in good shape for the growing season even though Sierra Nevada snow totals were lower than recent years. State Francisco Aguilar visited Carson City Tuesday to listen to tribal leaders' concerns about voting access and said new measures raised tribal voter turnout by 36% — he will meet with all 28 tribes to further improve the voting process. This effort builds on recent changes aimed at making it easier for Native voters to cast their ballots. News4
- ➤ A bill to expand voting access and update election procedures cleared its first major deadline in the Nevada Legislature last week and will let any registered voter use an approved electronic system to vote if they cannot get a mail ballot or go to the polls due to illness or disability. The measure also removes limits on candidacy for those who changed voter registration, allows candidate filing fees to be paid by credit card, and requires election accuracy audits and a cyber-incident response plan.
