🎓 Education
Carson City School District chief nurse Sheila Story was named School Nurse Administrator of the Year by the Nevada State Association of School Nurses.
She was selected from 11 nominees among more than 138 school nurses for her work in keeping students healthy.
🏥 Health
Carson Tahoe Health dropped several Medicare Advantage plans by ending contracts with United Healthcare at the end of May, Aetna and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield on April 1, and Humana on May 1, leaving only Prominence and Senior Care Plus for local patients.
Carson City resident Charles Damon—67—said he canceled all his appointments because his doctors were out-of-network and he will use other systems when he is in town.
