CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Virginia City will host BONANZA DAYS on May 9th and 10th — a festive event featuring costumes, reenactments, and a tribute to the classic Bonanza show that brings old West history to life. CarsonNow
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Continuing students started registering for fall and summer sessions at Western Nevada College on April 6, while new students can register beginning Monday, Apr. 13 online. The college offers affordable education with small classes + financial aid and scholarships available. CarsonNow
- ➤ Carson City School District Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday, Apr. 14 at 6 p.m. in the Robert Crowell Board Room at the Community Center to review the tentative budget and consider staff layoffs (affecting teachers, social workers, and more). Public attendance is available in person or online. CarsonNow
- ➤ The Carson Now Local Favorites Contest revealed winners in the Education category, honoring teachers, childcare providers and counselors for their impact on local learning. More category results will follow soon. CarsonNow
