- ➤ The Carson City Parks and Recreation Commission will consider a concept plan for the East Lompa Ranch Dog Park at its Tuesday 5:30 p.m. meeting in the community center (851 E. William St). The plan includes two fenced dog park areas near the Nevada Humane Society—one covering 0.6 acre and the other 1.3 acres—with a 20-space parking lot and a crosswalk for safe access. The Nevada Appeal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Carson City School District, Carson City Juvenile Services and the District Attorney’s Office introduced a pilot program on March 25 to reduce student fights without using the full court process. The program lets an SRO issue a battery citation instead of making an arrest while requiring students to attend a class and serve community service, and if it works it will be expanded to middle schools.
