- ➤ Retired University professor Alan Gubanich shared his bird collection during Family Day at Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center on Saturday, allowing about 40 visitors to closely view specimens from his Society’s 300-bird collection. - ➤ Douglas High alum Lena Richardson earned her law degree last year and was named one of 15 winners of the 2026 Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Award for an article on Nevada betting rules (she now serves as a judicial law clerk for a U.S. District Court judge). The Record Courier
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ NV Energy filed a request with state regulators + it asked to postpone the new daily demand charge for residential customers from April 1 until October to allow extra customer education. The revised billing system would add a fee based on peak 15-minute usage each day. FOX Reno
