ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Warm temperatures are melting mountain snow and raising water levels in area streams and rivers, but flood risks in Carson City remain low because improved infrastructure and lighter snowpack keep flows in check. Officials said crews are monitoring gauges and clearing drains as high flows continue into the weekend. FOX Reno
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Bureau of Land Management plans to convey 2,062 acres from the Anaconda Mine Site near Yerington to Atlantic Richfield for cleanup. A notice will be published in Monday's Federal Register and a 45-day comment period will close April 9. The Record Courier
- ➤ The Public Utilities Commission approved NV Energy’s settlement on Tuesday, meaning about 45,000 multifamily customers overcharged since 2002 will receive $63M in refunds — current customers will see a bill credit while former customers get a refund check by mail in the next 120-210 days.
