Good morning, Carson City.

Carson High School senior Johnathan Alvarado (recognized at the Rotary Club Senior Spotlight) excelled in academics, athletics and early education volunteer work.

He will graduate with a high GPA (3.83 weighted), earn First Team All-Northern Region honors on the football field, and receive an athletic scholarship from Dickinson State.

Earlier this week, a heavy winter storm dropped more than 1 ft of snow in Carson City, leading to facility closures and inspiring skiing and snowmobiling; a winter weather advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. today — a smaller storm is forecast to add more snow.
