- ➤ Local restaurateur Pete Coscarart — founder of Villa Basque Café known for its chorizo and fusion dishes — passed away on Feb. 5 at age 72. His family held a memorial on Feb. 10 and said the café will continue serving the community in his honor. The Nevada Appeal
- ➤ Residents enjoyed a fundraiser featuring Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School choir & band on Feb. 4 at Salterra of Carson Valley. Organized by Golden Hearts, the event supported new instruments and student trips, and donations will continue at the Buy in Bingo Fundraiser on Feb. 27. The Record Courier
