- ➤ Hope Springs, a transitional housing program for those exiting homelessness, joins local partners for the annual Souper Bowl of Caring food drive on Friday, Feb. 6 at Smith's on South Meadows Parkway from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Donations will support weekly food pickups that help residents avoid hunger. - ➤ Teacher Alison Cadwell and colleague Marianna Daniele spoke at Carson High’s Winterfest Assembly about a fundraising challenge where teachers shaved their heads to raise money for the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation. The assembly was held Tuesday, Feb. 3. FOX Reno

- ➤ USDA data shows that the Sierra snowpack near Carson City is now at about 60-80 percent of normal because January had little snowfall — dry conditions are expected with a chance for precipitation later in the week according to the National Weather Service. The Nevada Appeal
