The Souper Bowl of Caring event will be held Friday, Feb.
6 at Smith’s at 750 S. Meadows Parkway, as partners work with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada to collect food items for families and seniors in our community. Donations will be accepted from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

WNC is easing the pathway into healthcare with a Community Health Worker training from March 2 at Carson City (scholarships available via the Nell J.
Redfield Foundation) while supporting student families by opening a second family-friendly study space and retaining its Child Development Center’s 5-star rating.

2 near Mt. Rose show the Sierra snowpack measured 58 inches — 83% of the median for the date, while rain near Lake Tahoe has boosted local precipitation to 115% of normal. Officials said many river basins remain below normal.
